Just Futures Pahal (JFP) is delighted to announce that our Founding Chairperson, Sarita Pariyar, has been admitted to the prestigious Asian Literature, Religion, and Culture (ALRC) doctoral program at Cornell University, commencing in the fall semester of 2025. Sarita is currently completing her two-year Master's program in Asian Studies at Cornell, with expected completion in May 2025, supported by both a Fulbright Graduate Fellowship and a Cornell University Fellowship.
Sarita's acceptance into this rigorous doctoral program transcends personal achievement; it stands as a testament to the core values championed by JFP: the pursuit of dignity, equity, justice, and sustainable futures through the critical prism of caste. Her research will examine these complex issues on a global scale, amplifying the voices and lived experiences of marginalized communities.
This milestone underscores JFP's unwavering commitment to cultivating a knowledge institution that centers the lived experiences, capabilities, aspirations, love, and joy of Dalit women.
Even as she embarks on her doctoral studies, Sarita will remain deeply engaged with JFP. She will continue to serve as the active Chairperson of our Board of Directors, co-teach our capstone course, "Interrogating Caste, Gender, Sexuality & Class: Reimagining Dalit Futures" for the Damal Fellowship, and strategically collaborate on our signature programs.

हाम्रा संस्थापक अध्यक्ष एवं लेखक सरिता परियारले सन् २०२५ को फल सेमेस्टरबाट सुरू हुने कोर्नेल विश्वविद्यालयको प्रतिष्ठित एसियाली साहित्य, धर्म र संस्कृति (एएलआरसी) विद्यावारिधि कार्यक्रममा प्रवेशको प्रस्ताव स्वीकारेको जानकारी पाउँदा जस्ट फ्यूचर्स पहल (जेएफपी) अत्यन्त खुसी भएको छ । स्मरणीय छ, उहाँले कोर्नेलमै यही विषयमा फुलब्राइट ग्रेजुएट फेलोसिप र कोर्नेल विश्वविद्यालय फेलोसिपअन्तर्गत दुई वर्षको मास्टर्स कार्यक्रम यही मे २०२५ मा पूरा गर्दै हुनुहुन्छ ।
सघन अध्ययन गर्नुपर्ने विद्यावारिधि कार्यक्रममा सरिता परियारको सहभागिताको मूल्य व्यक्तिगत उपलब्धिभन्दा निकै धेरै छ । उहाँको उपलब्धि जेएफपीले स्थापना गरेको जातको समीक्षात्मक प्रिज्मबाट सम्मान, समता, न्याय र दीगो भविष्यहरूको खोजजस्ता मूल्य–मान्यताको जिउँदो प्रमाणको रुपमा उभिएको छ । अब उहाँको अनुसन्धानले सीमान्तकृत समुदायका आवाज र उनीहरूका जीवन अनुभवलाई फैलाउँदै यस्ता जटिल मुद्दामाथि वैश्विक स्तरमा खोजतलाश गर्ने विश्वास छ ।
यो एउटा ज्ञान उत्पादन गर्ने संस्थाको रुपमा आफूलाई विकास गर्ने जेएफपीको अटूट प्रतिबद्धतालाई रेखांकित गर्ने कोसेढुंगा हो, जसले दलित महिलाहरूका अनुभव, क्षमता, आकांक्षा, प्रेम र खुसीलाई केन्द्रमा राख्छ । आधुनिक प्रविधिको सुविधा र आफ्नो दृढ़ समर्पणका आधारमा सरिता परियारको निरन्तर नेतृत्वमा जेएफपी सबैको न्यायपूर्ण भविष्यका निम्ति नयाँ भाष्यहरूलाई साकार रुप दिने एक विशिष्ट स्थान र महत्वपूर्ण शक्ति बनिरहने गरी क्रियाशील रहनेछ ।
पीएचडीको पढाइ सुरु भएपछि पनि सरिता परियार जेएफपीका काम–कारबाहीसँग गहिरोसँग जोडिएर क्रियाशील रहनुहुनेछ । उहाँ हाम्रो संस्थाको सक्रिय अध्यक्षको रुपमा संचालक समितिका सदस्यका रुपमा सक्रिय हुनुहुनेछ । त्यस्तै, उहाँले दामल फेलोसिपको क्रममा जारी 'जात, लैंगिकता, यौनिकता र वर्गबारे जाँचबुझ : दलित भविष्यहरूको पुनर्कल्पना' बारे क्याप्स्टोन कोर्सका सह–सहजकर्ताको रुपमा पढाउनु हुनेछ भने हाम्रा अन्य मुख्य–मुख्य कार्यक्रममा रणनीतिक सहकार्य गर्नु नै हुनेछ ।
सरिता परियार नेपालमा त्रिभुवन विश्वविद्यालय र कोर्नेल विश्वविद्यालयबीच दीर्घकालिक साझेदारीलाई अगाडि बढाउँदै जात व्यवस्थासम्बन्धी मुद्दामा वैश्विक सहयोगमा वृद्धि र विस्तार गर्ने कामप्रति प्रतिबद्ध हुनुहुन्छ । उहाँको लक्ष्य भनेको यस मुद्दामा हाम्रो बुझाइलाई गहिरो बनाउन तथा दीगो र सार्थक फेरबदल ल्याउन संसारभरका विद्वान्हरू विचारकहरू अभियन्ताहरू र संस्थानहरूलाई जोड्नु रहेको छ ।
सरिता परियारको यात्रा जेएफपीको गुदी : रुपान्तरणकारी बौद्धिकता र व्यवहारप्रतिको प्रतिबद्धतासँग साल–नालजस्तै गाँसिएको छ । उहाँका काम–कारबाहीहरू सबैका लागि न्यायपूर्ण संसार बनाउने गरी पुराना भाष्यहरूमाथि पुनर्विचार गर्न र नयाँ भाष्यहरू सिर्जना गर्न कसरी विचार, व्यक्ति र संस्थाहरू निर्णायक हुने रहेछन् भन्ने कुराका मिसाल हुन् । त्यसैले हामीलाई सरिता परियारप्रति अत्यधिक गौरव छ र हामी उहाँको शैक्षिक र संस्थागत सत्प्रयासका लागि शुभकामना दिन चाहन्छौं ।
